Companion Animal Medical Center in Shreveport, LA has been serving the Ark-La-Tex since the mid 1980's. In 1996 Dr. Kathryn Hartline bought the practice. One year later she and her husband, Dr. Glen Hartline, combined their practices in order to provide their clients the many benifits that a multi-doctor practice can offer.
Since graduating LSU school of veterinary medicine in 1994, both doctors have challenged themselves to always improve and offer the highest quality of veterinary care to their patients. With that philosophy, in 1996 they added ultrasound to their practice making this important diagnostic tool available in the area for the first time. In 1997 They became the first in Louisiana to offer laser surgery using a CO2 laser to their clients. They were able to see first hand the improved surgical care their patients received with a decrease in sugical bleeding and a tremendous decrease in post-surgical pain. It also allowed them to perform surgeries safely that were traditionally believed too dangerous for private practice like soft palate surgery. Now in 2008 they are pleased to be one of a very few veterinary hospitals in the country to offer their clients single port laproscopic ovariohysterectomies, and other laproscopic surgeries.
